The HPCL is setting up a 250 TMT per annum capacity bottling plant at Panagarh in West Bengal. This plant will have a 72-head carousel, the biggest in Asia. We first set up this type of carousel just last year in Bangalore. In fact, this plant will also have the provision to put another 72-head carousel. The plant will cater to around 12 lakh customers and will have the capacity to produce 4200 cylinder per annum on a single carousel. The idea behind this is that, as of now West Bengal has got a lower than the normal national average LPG penetration and this plant will give us capacity to cater to the eastern India in terms of LPG so that people can be provided with a cleaner fuel. This is also in line with the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana to make the LPG available to families below poverty line and thereby helping in improving the health of womenfolk in India.
